1992 - Victorian College of Pharmacy, now a faculty of Monash University

In 1992, the Victorian College of Pharmacy (VCP), established in 1881, officially became a Faculty of Monash University.

Today: Established by the Pharmaceutical Society of Victoria to train and develop professionals in pharmacy for the then developing colony, the VCP has played a major role in pharmaceutical science research and pharmacy education for more than 120 years.

The School of Pharmaceutical Society of Victoria, as it was then known, had its first premises at the Melbourne Technical Museum followed by a short stay in Fitzroy, finally settling in the old County Court building in Swanston Street where it remained for 76 years. The college moved to its current premises at Parkville in 1960 and was the first non-university institution in Australia to offer a bachelor's degree.
