Gaell and Suzi are experienced teachers of teachers and have
implemented a number of innovative assessment practices within their
units. In this presentation they will reflect on assessment of problem-based
learning tasks through the development of assessment rubrics and
the use and effectiveness of peer assessment. |

This paper will present the educational paradigm of case-based
learning (CBL) and highlight its use in the current Bachelor of
Emergency Health (BEH) degree offered by Monash University Centre
for Ambulance and Paramedic Studies (MUCAPS). |

In July 2003 the Department of Medical Imaging and Radiation
Sciences launched its innovative graduate entry Master of Radiation
Therapy course. This off-campus course is delivered to graduates
across four states, utilising a variety of teaching, assessment
and quality assurance strategies. The presentation focuses on two
of these strategies; namely the extension of the online case-based
problem-oriented learning tool SOLAR and the development of a clinical
competency quality assurance moderation tool. |
