Gaell and Suzi are experienced teachers of teachers and have implemented a number of innovative assessment practices within their units. In this presentation they will reflect on assessment of problem-based learning tasks through the development of assessment rubrics and the use and effectiveness of peer assessment.

This paper will present the educational paradigm of case-based learning (CBL) and highlight its use in the current Bachelor of Emergency Health (BEH) degree offered by Monash University Centre for Ambulance and Paramedic Studies (MUCAPS).

In July 2003 the Department of Medical Imaging and Radiation Sciences launched its innovative graduate entry Master of Radiation Therapy course. This off-campus course is delivered to graduates across four states, utilising a variety of teaching, assessment and quality assurance strategies. The presentation focuses on two of these strategies; namely the extension of the online case-based problem-oriented learning tool SOLAR and the development of a clinical competency quality assurance moderation tool.
