Library servicesThe Monash University Library has branches on each campus of the University. The library provides access to over 2.9 million items and a vast range of resources and services online including access the library catalogue and tutorials. FacilitiesEvery branch is equipped with computer workstations, photocopying and printing facilities and group and quiet study areas. Some branches provide study rooms and equipment that can be booked. LoansBorrowing from Monash University LibraryStudents with a valid Monash student ID card may borrow from any branch of Monash University Library.
Some items that are in heavy demand have shorter loan periods or are placed in a separate reserve collection. Postal loansPostal loans are also available for off-campus learning students. Off-campus students can also request photocopies of book chapters and journal articles. See library services for off-campus students. Services for students with a disabilityMonash University Library endeavours to ensure that all students with a disability are able to access the library and its resources. Most branches have well-equipped adaptive technology rooms and staff who can offer special assistance. You will usually need to make arrangements in advance when specific assistance is required. Library branchesBerwick campusThe Berwick Library and Learning Commons specialises in tourism, communication, business and information technology. Visit the Berwick Library website. Clayton campusThe library’s collections on the Clayton campus are distributed, by subject area, across three branches.
Gippsland campusParticular strengths of the Gippsland Library include business, humanities, social sciences and communication, information technology, health sciences and education. Parkville campusThe CL Butchers Pharmacy Library specialises in pharmaceutical sciences and drug technology and is considered the most important collection of its type in Australia. Visit the CL Butchers Pharmacy Library website. Peninsula campusThe Peninsula Library has particular strengths in nursing, business, information technology, and primary and early childhood education. Collections are also being developed to support new courses in physiotherapy, occupational therapy and health sciences. A collection of medical models supports the training of nurses, ambulance officers and health sciences students and there is also a large collection of teaching materials for education students.
