Monash University International Scholarships for Excellence

Eligibility

To be eligible, you must be:

• an international student studying Australian Year 12 or IB in 2008, or
• a direct international applicant to a Monash campus in Australia, or
• a continuing Monash University international student, and
• enrolled or intending to enrol in an on-campus undergraduate or postgraduate (coursework) degree at a Monash campus in Australia.

Selection criteria

Awarded to the highest achieving eligible:

• Year 12 students in Australia based on their ENTER score or equivalent. Students must have achieved an ENTER score or equivalent of at least 95.00, or
• direct applicants who have achieved in the top 5 per cent in their previous studies, or
• continuing Monash students with a minimum grade average of 80 per cent.

Scholarships will be offered to commencing students first, with any remaining scholarships to be offered to continuing Monash University students.

Value

$6,000 per 48 credit points of study, for the minimum number of credit points required to complete the degree.

Variable, depending on funding.

Retention

Recipients must maintain a minimum of a distinction grade average (70 per cent).

Deferability

This scholarship can be deferred.

Continuing Monash students must apply for this scholarship via the online application form. Applications open 10:00am (AEST) Friday 1 August 2008 and close 5:00pm (AEST) Friday 31 October 2008

International students applying directly to the University for entry to a course of study will be automatically assessed when their course application is received.
