Monash University Indigenous Scholarship for Achievement

Eligibility

To be eligible, you must be:

• of Australian Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent, and
• studying Australian Year 12 or IB in 2008, or
• a continuing Monash University undergraduate student, and
• enrolled or intending to enrol in an undergraduate degree in a Commonwealth-Supported Place at a Monash campus in Australia.

Selection criteria

Awarded to the highest achieving eligible Year 12 Indigenous Australian students based on their ENTER score or equivalent. In the case of continuing students, assessment is based on academic performance at Monash University.

Value

Commonwealth-Supported Place contributions paid plus $6,000 per 48 credit points of study, for the minimum number of credit points required to complete the degree.

Up to four.

Retention

Recipients must maintain a minimum of a credit grade average (60 per cent).

Deferability

This scholarship can be deferred in exceptional circumstances.

Applications open 10:00am (AEST) Friday 1 August 2008 and close 5:00pm (AEST) Friday 31 October 2008.
