Diana Beslui-Ionescu: explanation for sunquakes. So, basically I'm looking for sunquakes on the sun.

Diana Beslui-Ionescu: A sunquake is a manifestation of expanding rings on the solar surface, that have happened on the solar corona a few minutes earlier probably.

Diana Beslui-Ionescu: They were first discovered in 1998 and I first learned about them in 2003 and ever since then I have been hooked on them.

Diana Beslui-Ionescu: We have found close to 18 sunquakes now and we are the only group in the entire world who have discovered that many sunquakes and we have at this time the most knowledge about sunquakes in the entire world.

I have chosen Monash because it looks like one of the best environments to work in.

Diana Beslui-Ionescu: like my department they are filled with great people, valuable people, like top scientists in our field and they are lot of fun to work with. They make this very hard work seem fun and enjoyable. It was a great experience. I highly recommend coming to Monash.
