Yvette Kaman

Current student, Master of Education specialising in gifted education

Despite the demands than come with expanding a software company she started back in 1998, Yvette Kaman needed little persuasion to take on further study.

"My interest in gifted education was sparked by having a gifted child, and now it has become a passion for me. While I can certainly use the knowledge and skills I have acquired up until now, my further study at masters level will enable me to work in the field. Indeed, I have decided to pursue a career in gifted education.

"The course is extremely well organised and allows for a great breadth and depth of investigation, both in our own written work, as well as in class discussion - which always proves to be lively and diverse. Additionally, the support provided by the lecturer is outstanding."

For Yvette, the inclusion of visiting lecturers that are internationally recognised leaders in their field, adds an extra dimension: "These seminars and lectures have provided not only an international perspective, they have tangibly supported the feeling that Monash University is up-to-date and part of the world arena in a field that is broad and constantly developing."
