Education PhD student Worawoot Tutwisoot
For PhD Education student Worawoot Tutwisoot life is about learning.
Inspired by the Monash University motto 'Ancora imparo' or 'I am still learning' the Khon Kaen University Master of Arts graduate travelled to Australia in pursuit of knowledge.
The unique opportunity offered through a scholarship from the Thai Government's Strategic Scholarships for Frontier Research Network added extra satisfaction to his journey to become a world-class teacher.
"Learning new things is challenging," he said. "For international students learning in a new language along with a new environment is much more challenging but it is also very satisfying. This is a great opportunity to see the world differently and to be part of a research community."
Worawoot has been impressed with Monash's services, libraries, workshops and seminars but reserved his highest praise for the academic supervisor who has mentored his studies of computer-assisted language learning. "We have a great relationship," he said. "He has never told me my ideas are wrong but he provides me with possibilities and support."
Worawoot is determined to remain true to his word and keep on learning once he completes his research and returns to teach in Thailand . "I would like to see myself teaching at Nakhon Ratchasima Rajabhat University as well as doing more research to improve my teaching and continue to make contributions to the field," he said. "I realise that there are a lot of things to learn, and everybody should still be learning."
