Part-time study gives you the flexibility to balance your academic, work and family life. It allows you to progress through your course at a pace that suits you.
This option is available for most courses. You can choose to enrol in one, two, three or four units in each semester.
If you study part-time, keep in mind that you must still complete a single degree within eight years and a double degree within ten years.
To receive Centrelink payments, you must undertake a minimum of 18 points (typically three units) during each semester.
If you are an international student, you must complete your course within the duration of your Confirmation of Enrolment (COE). This is one of the conditions of your student visa.
To reduce your study load below the standard full-time load, you must seek advice from your faculty. If you do not hold a student visa (e.g. Business Long Stay or Spouse visa), you can reduce your study load without approval.
