The Monash Passport

We know our students are smart when they arrive. That's why our education model - the Monash Passport - is a 'why wait' model. It is designed to improve your career prospects and enrich your personal development.
The four programs of the Monash Passport are:

  • Act: providing you with opportunities to bring about change through community engagement, work-integrated learning activities and student-to-student learning.
  • Enhance: preparing you to be a critical and creative thinker who can produce innovative solutions to multifaceted problems or to be a future leader.
  • Explore: providing you with international experiences and perspectives through study abroad or collaboration between the University’s Australian and international campuses.
  • Investigate: encouraging you to develop research skills and discover new knowledge through research challenge units or vacation research projects.

Many Monash Passport programs will appear on your Australian Higher Education Graduate Statement, giving you an edge when you begin your career.

Learn through volunteering

We encourage students to volunteer with a wide range of not-for-profit organisations. Volunteering allows you to help other people and strengthen communities in meaningful ways. Add depth to your degree

Students can participate in a number of multi-disciplinary, cross-university units and opportunities. Depth units give you access to experts and professionals within your field, and outside it.

Increase your options

We put you in the driver's seat. Choose a single degree or a double degree. Take subjects from another discipline or add a specialist diploma to your degree. You can even choose to study all or some of your course online.

Get a head start on university while you're still at school

If you are an ambitious high school student, you can start a Monash education before you walk through the gates. Our Extension studies program (previously called the Enhancement program) allows students to study a first-year Monash subject as part of their final year at secondary school.
