How to apply - domestic students

Domestic students are:

  • Australian citizens
  • Australian permanent residents (including holders of Australian permanent humanitarian visas)
  • New Zealand citizens.

Applying through VTAC

Applications are made through the Victorian Tertiary Admissions Centre (VTAC), which is open to:

  • Current Year 12 students (in Victoria and interstate)
  • International Baccalaureate (IB) students in Australia
  • Non Year 12 applicants (TAFE and non-school leavers)
  • Applicants studying another Australian Year 12 interstate
  • Queensland External Senior students
  • Applicants studying the IB overseas
  • Applicants studying a Year 12 equivalent qualification.

How to submit your VTAC application

  • Use the VTAC guide to help you with the application.
  • Submit your application with the VTAC Online Application (you will need Internet Explorer to access all VTAC pages).
  • Applications open in August of each year for selection into the next year intake.

  • Online via the VTAC website
  • At newsagencies in Victoria
  • Through VTAC itself

Direct entry applicants

  • You can apply for direct entry to some courses.
  • Applications for the following on-campus courses must be made direct to the relevant faculty.
