Deferring your offer

  • You can defer for up to a year.
  • If you plan to study at another institution in Australia during that period, contact your faculty first to discuss your options. The faculty will determine if the deferment is appropriate.

Exceptions

Medicine and Radiography students, contact the Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences for specific details.

Deferring online

  1. Log-in to the Web Enrolment System WES.
  2. Go to 'Application Forms'.
  3. Go to 'Apply for Course Deferment'.
  4. Click on 'View deferment policy and eligibility' to check that you are eligible to defer.
  5. Click 'Apply to defer from your course'.
  6. Check that your details are accurate.
  7. Select a checkbox for your 'Deferment Return Date'.
  8. Read the Declaration then click 'Submit Application'.

Keep your transaction number for future reference. An email will be sent to your Monash student email account if successful.

Deferring by mail

Will my course fee be the same?

  • The course fee used will usually be the one specified in the year you take up your offer.

Credit transfer

  • Any approved study completed in Australia in the year of deferral cannot be used to gain credit unless specified in the conditions of the deferment.
