Credit transfer / Recognition of Prior Learning
You may shorten the length of the course by seeking:
Previous academic work
Academic work includes:
Assessment of applications
- Applications cannot be considered if received three months after a course has commenced.
- Credit will not normally be granted for studies completed more than 10 years ago.
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
Credit can also be granted for:
- learning acquired through courses at institutions outside university or TAFE. This includes professional organisations, enterprise, private educational institution, or other providers recognised by the University
- learning acquired through work, industry or life experience.
Claiming credits for experience
Your faculty can:
- advise you on what is considered 'prior learning' and how Monash assesses this, including any associated costs
- advise you on your application, prior experiences, evidence (including references) and how they relate to the units for which credit is sought
- refer you to an adviser (usually the University registrar), who will counsel you on the application process.
