2013 Indigenous Staff Mentoring Program Applications Open.

We are now accepting mentor applications from academic and professional staff (HEW 7/Level C and above) for the 2013 Indigenous Mentoring Program. This program aims to provide Indigenous staff with access to the learning and developmental opportunities provided by a mentoring relationship.

Mentors are required to attend a preparation session (9:30 to 12:30 on 14 December) and a Cultural Safety workshop (4 hours - multiple sessions).

Each successful applicant (mentor) will be matched with an Indigenous staff member for a period of 9 months. They will then meet with their mentee approximately once a month throughout the program.

Ongoing support will be provided to all Mentors from Yulendj and a number of professional development activities will also be held throughout the program.

If you would like to participate as a mentor in the program supporting the career development of an Indigenous colleague, then please complete the online application form by Friday 30th November.

Help for future students

Academic support

We take supporting Indigenous students and their families seriously. We have several academic support programs in place to make sure students achieve their best and enjoy their time at University.

Our name

The Wurundjeri Tribal Land Council have given us approval to use the word Yulendj as the traditional name of our Indigenous Engagement Unit. Yulendj comes from the Woiwurrung language and means “sense, intelligence”. It is pronounced “Yull-end-gee”.
