Medicine (MBBS) applicants

Entry into Monash Medicine is determined in three main ways.

  • Interview
  • Final academic results (ENTER score)

ISAT

  • Test dates in Victoria and interstate. (http://www.acer.edu.au/tests/university/isat/sittings.html)
  • ISAT results are sent directly by ACER to Monash.
  • The UMAT (Undergraduate Medicine and Health Sciences Admissions Test) is not accepted by Monash University Medicine for international students.

Interviews

  • Applicants are invited to interviews based on ISAT results
  • Interviews are conducted in December at the Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences at the Clayton campus in Victoria .
  • Each interview is approximately 40 minutes and is conducted by a panel of 3 trained interviewers
  • Interview questions are developed to determine personal qualities, leadership abilities and motivation to succeed in the medical course
  • Applicants are assessed based on quality of motivation, appropriateness of interpersonal style and communication skills

Application tips
