Student testimonials

Current Monash University students talk about feeling safe in Melbourne. They outline the security services provided by the University for all international students.

Aashish Singh
PhD in the Department of Electrical and Computer Systems Engineering

The current unrest is condemnable. Such incidents can happen in any society and in any part of the world. I feel students should be cautious, should not travel too late at night and things will settle down over a period of time.

The culture at Monash Clayton Campus is vibrant. I have been here for three years now and have met and made friends with people coming from different parts of the world whom I never imagined meeting in the first place.

The University and numerous student associations on campus keep organising various fun events all round the year. It's a lively place altogether. I feel Monash Clayton campus is safe.

Jina Kanuga
Master of Human Resource Management

Both Melbourne and Monash are safe places. I have been living in Melbourne from past three years and I have never encountered such issues.

I strongly believe that prospective students should be educated that there is no racial discrimination as such in Australia in particular in Monash University. In fact, I have the best time of my life in Monash. The staff, security officers are really co-operative and are there to guide and provide assistance whenever needed.

Arvindbai Shyara
Master of Applied Finance

In the current situation of attacks on Indian students, there are no such incidents on any Monash campuses. Monash provides a very safe environment for students. I have never come across any of these kinds of issues. Security support is also good and you can contact them at any time.

Poonam Sheth
Master of Business Systems

Monash University is very much on par with other global schools and universities and has a command over practical and unbiased application of knowledge and education.

In the present, it still provides complete security and safety to the students and staff. I personally have not come across any such issues on Monash campuses.

I am proud to be associated with the Monash family.

Adnan Aziz Contractor
Master of Business (Banking and Finance)

All Monash campuses have a dedicated security service. There have been no reported untoward incidents on any of the campuses. There are telephones and intercoms located at in all buildings with a hot line to the security office.

The University takes a serious view of security and regularly updates students as deemed necessary.
