First PhD graduate for Sunway campus
Mark Ng has been awarded the degree of Doctor of Philosophy, making him the first PhD graduate for the School of Engineering and the first graduate to complete full tertiary studies at the campus.

Monash Sunway campus, Kuala Lumpur

In 1998, the Malaysian government invited Monash University to be the first foreign university to open a campus in Malaysia. Today, the Monash Sunway campus in Kuala Lumpur has a thriving student population of more than 4,000.

Located in the self-contained township of Bandar Sunway, the new campus in Malaysia opened in 2007 and is a joint-venture between Monash University and the Sunway Group, through its Sunway Education Trust Fund.

The Sunway campus currently offers various degrees through five academic schools:

• School of Arts and Sciences
• School of Business
• School of Engineering
• School of Information Technology
• School of Medicine and Health Sciences
