If you are studying Year 12 in Australia, including:
- VCE or other state equivalent, or
- the International Baccalaureate (IB)
you need to apply online through VTAC.
Step 1: Choose your course
Use the Monash Course Finder to find the right course for you. Alternatively, you can buy a VTAC Guide from your local newsagent (if you are in Australia). For more help, you can also see a Monash Course Adviser.
Step 2: Check the entry requirements for your course
Each course has different minimum entry requirements and prerequisite subjects that you must meet. You can check these in Course Finder. Make sure you are aware of any extra requirements such as folios or interviews.
If you are an interstate or IB student, you can look at score and prerequisite equivalents on the VTAC website and download the VTAC prerequisite subject list.
Step 3: Apply
- When you apply through VTAC, your course code should end with the number 3. This identifies you as an international student.
- We do not accept Special Entry Access Schemes (SEAS) applications for international students.
- If you are an IB student in Australia, you need to make sure you or your school has submitted the necessary results release form to the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO). This is so VTAC can access your results.
- Be realistic with your preferences and weigh up all of your options. If you do not meet the academic entry requirements, consider a pathway to Monash University through Monash College.
Apply online now with VTAC.
Step 4: Offer stage
- You should receive an email about two weeks after we receive all the document we need.
- If you are successful, Monash University will send an offer pack to the mailing address you provided in the VTAC system.
- Accept your offer and Monash will then send you a Confirmation of Enrolment. Once you've done this, you can apply for your student visa.
