To apply for intermission (also known as study leave), complete the Intermission Application (pdf 43kb).
Doctoral or MPhil candidates should complete the MRGS leave from candidature/scholarship application (pdf 38kb). You need to support any request for intermission with supporting documentation.
Intermission for student visa holders can only be approved on compassionate or compelling circumstances, like illness or severe personal trauma.

If your student visa is due to expire before your course end date, you will need to apply for an eCOE extension in WES:
You must apply at least 1 month before your current visa expires. We will send your new eCOE to your Monash email account within 5 – 10 working days.

If you are granted a permanent residency visa or if your residency status reverts from permanent to temporary, you must inform the University within 14 days.
You may be able to apply for temporary or permanent residency under the General Skilled Migration Program.
