Apply online - step-by-step guide

Untitled Document

An online application should take between 15 and 30 minutes if you have all your details and documentation ready.

Who can apply online?

International students intending to study full-time and on-campus at Monash in Australia in an undergraduate course or postgraduate coursework program can apply online.

Other international student applications

Step 1: Find a course

Use the  Monash Course Finder  to find a course that's right for you. You could also consider a Monash College diploma pathway. Check all entry requirements and prerequisites for courses.

Step 2: Have all relevant documentation and information ready

Please note:

  • If your documentation is in a language other than English, an official certified translation must be provided
  • All electronic documents must be in a file format that can be uploaded (eg, pdf, doc or rtf text files or pdf or jpg image files) with your application. File size limit is 2.5mb per file.
(If you are unable to provide documents in electronic form, you can post them to us, although this will delay assessment of your application.)

To apply online you will need:

  • a valid email address
  • course details (name, code, commencement date) for all courses you intend to apply for
  • your academic transcripts in file format for upload (or you can post these to us later)
  • evidence that you meet the English language requirements (eg. IELTS test scores) in file format for upload (or you can post these to us later)
  • documents that support any application for credit for prior learning (including all official transcripts or results from previous studies, plus copies of the subject syllabuses) in file format for upload (or you can post these to us later)
  • credit card details for payment of the A$100 non-refundable application fee

Some courses require you to submit other documents such as details of relevant work experience - please check the course entry requirements in Course Finder.

Step 3: Register and apply online

Create an online application account and begin your application. You can exit and log back in to continue your application at any point - the application is saved after you complete each page.

Before you submit your application you will be asked to accept the conditions.

Step 4: Track your application online

Once you have submitted your application, you can track your application online by logging back in to your online application account.

Step 5: Offer package

Monash University will assess your application and if successful, you will be sent an offer package. The offer package includes:

  • A letter of offer
  • Acceptance documents
  • Visa information
  • Other important information to help you prepare for your Monash University studies

Please note: If you submit an incomplete application, you may be awarded a conditional offer from Monash. Once you have forwarded the missing information or supporting documentation, you can be awarded a full offer.

Step 6: Accept your offer

Once you have received your offer from Monash, accept your offer and send it together with payment for your first semester to Monash University .

Step 7: Confirmation of enrolment

Monash will then send you a Confirmation of Enrolment package including:

  • A welcome letter
  • A Confirmation of Enrolment form
  • A copy of the 'Passport to Monash' information publication

Step 8: Visa and travel arrangements

Then, you need to arrange your travel arrangements and your visa. Complete the airport reception form indicating whether you require temporary accommodation.

Step 9: Registration, enrolment and orientation

Finally, you need to be in Australia in time to attend registration, enrolment and orientation.
