This is a high-profile course designed for high achieving students who expect to pursue honours studies and a career in biomedical research. It provides opportunities for students to develop research, communication and team-work skills during their undergraduate studies.
Upon completion of this course, students will have demonstrated high academic performance across all studies and have achieved an engagement with research activities in Biomedical Science. Graduates will have specialist training in the discipline of biomedical science, with the potential for further vocational training or postgraduate study.
Equivalent Australian Year 12.
Students enrolled in the Bachelor of Biomedical Science course who achieve an average mark of 80% after the first year of study will be permitted to transfer into the Bachelor of Biomedical Science Advanced honours program.
Units 3 and 4-a study score of at least 35 in English (ESL) or 30 in any other English, a study score of at least 30 in chemistry and one of physics, mathematics methods (CAS) or specialist mathematics.
A score of at least 5 in English SL or 4 in English HL. Chemistry, and one of Mathematics, Further Mathematics or Physics at a minimum of grade four at standard level. An equivalent ATAR score equal to or greater than 95.
