The MSW (Forensic Studies) degree provides an opportunity for social work and human service professionals who have already completed a four year undergraduate degree in the social services field to enhance and develop specific knowledge and skills in forensic studies to more effectively work in the areas of mental health, child protection, disability, corrections, drug and alcohol.
This course will enhance career prospects for social welfare workers who for managers, policy developers, supervisors, social workers and professionals involved in direct work with clients.

A minimum overall IELTS test score of at least 6.5 with individual band scores required at 6.5 for Reading, 6.5 for Listening, 6.0 for Writing and 6.0 for Speaking;
a TOEFL minimum test score of either: in the written TOEFL, 580 with a Test of Written English (TWE) score of at least 4.5; or in the internet-based TOEFL, an overall score of at least 90 with at least 22 in the written section and no less than 20 in any other section.

The MSW (Forensic Studies) degree takes selected subjects from the Master of Social Work (Coursework) and selected subjects from the Graduate Diploma of Forensic Behavioural Science. All units are delivered in an off-campus learning; each Forensic Behavioural Science subject has a workshop component. Subjects cover a range of areas in which welfare intersects with the law: aspects of criminology, mental health, risk assessment and management of problem behaviours, understanding child maltreatment, ageing.
