The Honours degree of the BHSc allows students who are enrolled in the three year BHSc degree to undertake a public and health science honours as a fourth year of study. Assuming equivalence of studies, graduates from other disciplines can also apply for entry into the degree.

To be considered for entry to the Honours Degree of the Bachelor of Health Science, students are required to have:
Satisfied the requirements for completion of the Bachelor of Health Science degree; or a three or four year Australian Bachelor degree in any discipline; or an overseas qualification assessed as equivalent to an Australian Bachelor degree; and
Undertaken and satisfactorily completed a minimum of 6 units at the highest level of the completed degree and obtained an average of at least 70% in those units.

in the written TOEFL, 580 with a Test of Written English (TWE) score of at least 4.5; or
in the internet-based TOEFL, an overall score of at least 90 with at least 22 in the written section and no less than 20 in any other section.

The Hons BHSc degree is intended to provide graduates with a solid training in research that incorporates global health. In contextualising health within a global context across both the coursework and thesis components of the Hons BHSc, students will develop a research-driven capacity to address health-related issues that examine issues iteratively, from the local to the global and vice-versa.
