A small number of Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) students may be offered a place in the honours program at the completion of the third year of the Bachelor of Arts/BSW. This option is for students looking to enhance their research abilities and gain greater depths to their understanding of key issues within a specialised field of social work. Entry into the honours program is based on academic grades. Honours students are required to complete three subjects in addition to the usual subjects offered in their final year. These subjects are honours research methods, honours project seminar and honours dissertation.
Social Work is amongst the fastest growing of all professions. Our graduates have an excellent record in gaining employment after graduation. Graduates with an honours degree have additional skills that are sought after by employers. Graduates work in a variety of settings such as
Government agencies: schools, child and family welfare, corrections, Centrelink
