Why study Bachelor of Nursing Practice?

Become a valued member of your community, wherever you choose to live and work, with this practical degree that opens many doors in the growing area of health care in Australia and overseas.

Taught on our Gippsland campus by experienced nurses and world-class researchers, you will learn in an environment in which you will also work, with over half the course taught in clinical settings.

You will gain a broad foundation in general nursing practice and exposure to areas in which you could later specialise, such as aged care, child nursing, critical care, health policy, mental health, midwifery, palliative care and nursing management, education and advocacy.

You will gain skills in communication, research, clinical reasoning and judgement that are essential to nursing and transferrable to many other health-related areas, including areas of study, also offered at Gippsland, such as midwifery and medicine.

Perhaps most importantly, you will gain confidence in yourself and the gratitude of the people you will be able to help at their most vulnerable and needy moments.

Our students come from all over Victoria, Australia and the world, and our graduates work all over the world - from Melbourne and regional Victoria to remote WA, Papua New Guinea, the Middle East and beyond.
