Australian

The Australian Medical Council (AMC) has the responsibility for the accreditation of medical schools in Australia.After successfully completing the medical degree,a graduate is eligible for provisional registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency, or other Australian Medical Boards. After serving a compulsory internship year of residence in an approved hospital, the graduate is eligible for registration in Victoria and other states of Australia.

Equivalent Bachelors degree.

English requirements for international students

Gaining the required result in one of the following tests of English language:

IELTS score of 7.0 with no individual band score less than 6.5.

a TOEFL minimum test score of either;

in the written TOEFL, 600 with a Test of Written English (TWE) score of at least 5.0; or

in the internet-based TOEFL, an overall score of at least 100 with at least 24 in the written section and no less than 20 in any other section.

Special application requirements

Applicants must satisfy three requirements. 1. Completion (or in the process of completing)an Undergraduate degree (or equivalent qualification) from an Australian University or recognised International higher education institution. The degree does not have to be Medically or Scientifically orientated. Satisfactory GPA must be met. 2. Interview performance. Applicants must be available for the MMI (Multiple Mini Interview) process in September. 3. Applicants must sit the Graduate Australian Medical School Admission Test (GAMSAT). The MCAT (North American Medical College Admissions Test) will also be accepted for admission of international students into this course. Applications are made directly to the University and can be made online via International Recruitment Services.

Semester two (July)

This course currently doesn't have places available for mid-year entry.

Enrolment obligation

International students enrolling in a CRICOS-registered course can study no more than 25% of their course by distance and/or online learning. Students cannot enrol exclusively in distance and/or online learning study in any compulsory study period. See standard 9.4 of The National Code 2007.
