Course overview
Crime and how it should be managed and controlled is a complex and much debated matter. Students undertaking the BA (Criminal Justice) will discuss, analyse and evaluate issues which examine why crime occurs, the nature and rate of crime in different geographical areas, the effectiveness or otherwise of crime prevention polices, forensic psychology and safety and security issues.
The Criminal Justice degree also provides students with the knowledge and skills needed to understand the complexity of crime, to identify and evaluate the effectiveness or otherwise of the criminal justice process, and to consider new and radical alternatives for dealing with crime.
