As the world economy becomes more internationalised, employers are increasingly looking for graduates who are mobile, interculturally aware and have skills in a language other than English. With your expertise in international studies, you'll be equipped for a global career with a knowledge of world history, current affairs and an insight into the political underpinnings that affect the way organisations work.

You must be at least 17 years old when you enrol (applications may be made while you are 16).

South African National Senior Certificate (NSC)

  • Minimum score: 35
  • Subject prerequisites: English (4)

South African Senior School Certificate (SAFCERT) prior to 2008

Minimum entrance requirements for non-school-leavers

TAFE

A minimum of Certificate IV with at least a distinction (70%) average is required to be considered for admission.

Recommended studies include courses that have high humanities content, e.g. professional writing and editing, liberal arts, media and communications, justice studies, marketing and public relations. Some credit may be granted for TAFE studies.

SINGLE UNIVERSITY UNITS

Applicants will be considered for admission with two single units completed at a credit (60%) average. Additional units (above the minimum of two) will enhance a student's application. Students are encouraged to consider units that relate to the arts or social sciences. Credit for any other previous studies will only be granted from those completed no more than 10 years prior to admission, however qualifications gained more than 10 years prior can be used for admission. MONASH SOUTH AFRICA

If you don't meet the entry requirements for direct entry to the bachelor degree you'd like to study, the Foundation programme (MSAFP) can get you there. The programme bridges the gap between your highest qualification and the academic qualifications accepted by Monash South Africa.

VCE prerequisites

Units 3 and 4-a study score of at least 30 in English (ESL) or 25 in any other English.

International Baccalaureate subject prerequisites

  • A score of at least 4 in English SL or 3 in English HL or 5 in English B SL or 4 in English B HL.

Special application requirements

Non-year 12(eg. transfer, mature age, TAFE) applicants must complete the VTAC Personal Information (Pi) form.
