VCE prerequisites

Units 3 and 4-a study score of at least 35 in English (ESL) or 30 in any other English, and a study score of at least 25 in chemistry, mathematical methods (CAS) and in one of physics or specialist mathematics.

International Baccalaureate subject prerequisites

  • A score of at least 5 in English SL or 4 in English HL or 6 in English B SL or 5 in English B HL, and
  • A score of at least 4 in chemistry SL or 3 in chemistry HL, and
  • A score of at least 4 in mathematics SL or 4 in further mathematics SL or 3 in mathematics HL.

English requirements for international students

Gaining the required result in one of the following tests of English language:

IELTS score of 7.0 with no individual band score less than 6.5.

a TOEFL minimum test score of either;

in the written TOEFL, 600 with a Test of Written English (TWE) score of at least 5.0; or

in the internet-based TOEFL, an overall score of at least 100 with at least 24 in the written section and no less than 20 in any other section.

International Application Open and Closing Dates:

Applications for Semester 1 open on the 1st March preceding the year of entry, and close on the 15th January of the year of entry.

Enrolment obligation

International students enrolling in a CRICOS-registered course can study no more than 25% of their course by distance and/or online learning. Students cannot enrol exclusively in distance and/or online learning study in any compulsory study period. See standard 9.4 of The National Code 2007.
