VCE units 3 and 4 with a study score of at least 35 in English (ESL) or 30 in any other English and a study score of at least 25 in any two of chemistry, biology, mathematical methods, physics or specialists mathematics.
Non Year 12 applicants will apply through VTAC. Applicants will be assessed considering the entire academic record including GPA; UMAT; and interview. Non Year 12 applicants must also meet the Year 12 prerequisite subjects either at Year 12 level or equivalent tertiary studies. Successful completion of two semesters (Semester 1 & 2) of tertiary studies in the prerequisite VCE subjects at a recognised tertiary institution would be considered comparable to VCE success in those subjects.

LOCAL APPLICANTS
Current Year 12 and Non Year 12 applicants, including interstate and New Zealand citizens, must sit the Undergraduate Medicine and Health Sciences Admission Test (UMAT). Registration forms must be submitted to UMAT at ACER by 5pm Friday 3 June 2011. For further information contact the UMAT Officer at ACER (03) 9277 5746, (03) 9277 5502; email umat@acer.edu.au; web site http://umat.acer.edu.au/. The test date is Wednesday 27 July 2011. Successful applicants only will receive a letter in October/November requesting an interview. Interviews will be held in late November/early December.
Selection for interview is based on UMAT performance. All applicants must be available for face to face interviews at the designated time. In deciding applicants' final ranking equal weighting is given to their interview, academic result and UMAT score.
DEAN'S INDIGENOUS LIST
Australian Indigenous applicants to the Bachelor of Physiotherapy may apply to be considered for the Dean's Indigenous List.
Applicants who are members of an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander community, with pre-requisite subjects at Year 12 level of higher can apply for entry via VTAC. These applicants are encouraged to complete the 'Monash Indigenous Supplementary Form' to strengthen their application for consideration under this scheme. This form can be downloaded from the Monash University Indigenous Engagement Unit website at http://monash.edu/assets/pdf/supplementary-form.pdf. Staff from the Indigenous Engagement Unit will then contact applicants and liaise with the Department of Physiotherapy.
Successful applicants are eligible to apply for waiving of certain costs associated with their study.

RURAL CONSIDERATION
To be eligible for rural consideration the applicant must have resided (according to principal home address) for at least 5 years of the previous 12 years in areas classified as RRMA 3-7 (RRMA: Rural Remote and Metropolitan Area Classification). Generally, applicants living outside of cities with populations of over 100,000 are likely to be eligible. Applicants will be considered for disadvantage in consideration of their place of schooling and duration of their living in the rural area (defined as RRMA 3-7). Special Entry Access Scheme (SEAS) forms may be obtained from VTAC on request.
INTERNATIONAL APPLICANTS
International VCE applicants who are ONSHORE MUST apply through VTAC and must sit the International Student Admissions Test (ISAT) by 30 September 2011.
International applicants who are OFFSHORE must sit the ISAT by 20 May 2011 and apply directly through International Recruitment Service (IRS) at Monash University by 10 June 2011.
Information regarding ISAT can be obtained from ACER at http://isat.acer.edu.au., If invited to do so, international applicants must attend an interview at Monash Peninsula during November/early December 2011 or Singapore in late June/ early July 2011(notified by email).
International students expecting to change to Australian permanent residency prior to January 2012 must also sit the UMAT.
