Our honours degree builds on the knowledge and experience gained in the Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics. If you are a top-ranking graduate of a nutrition or dietetic course, this program will give you a deeper understanding of a chosen area of human nutrition.
The research skills and coursework components will help you critically analyse scientific literature and understand the research process. We also give you the freedom to develop your own research project proposal and investigate your interests within the field.
You will also benefit from Monash University's affiliation with two of Victoria's leading researchers in the field, the Baker IDI Heart and Diabetes Institute and Prince Henry's Institute.
Your honours year will involve a major research project, as well as compulsory coursework and research skills components. The research project will be the major component of your degree, and will focus on either the clinical or community/population nutrition area. You are able to you choose your project and supervisor in consultation with academics and the honours year adviser - meaning you have great flexibility in the type of project you can do.
