The course offers a strong foundation for health professionals wishing to develop a career path in clinical education at the level of planning, policy, delivery or research.

Why study Master of Health Professional Education?

This program is designed for health professional educators wishing to study contemporary evidence-based educational practices and to undertake educational coursework and/or research. The course can be undertaken in one of two ways, each of which commences with the Graduate Certificate in Health Professional Education (or an approved equivalent) plus: a further 48 credit points of coursework units or a further 24 credit-points of coursework units and a 24 credit point thesis. This course is available to international students for study by distance education with attendance to a number of compulsory on-campus/on-site days in Australia.

Minimum entrance requirements

Applicants must be graduates from any health related or education profession who are currently engaged in teaching or educational development or health related disciplines. Applicants must complete the Graduate Certificate in Health Professional Education (or an approved equivalent) before proceeding to the masters program.

Applicants must be graduates from any health related or education profession who are currently engaged, or will become engaged, in teaching or educational development in or of the health related disciplines.

English requirements for international students

Gaining the required result in one of the following tests of English language:

IELTS score of 7.0 with no individual band score less than 6.5

a TOEFL minimum test score of either

in the written TOEFL, 600 with a Test of Written English (TWE) score of at least 5.0

in the internet-based TOEFL, an overall score of at least 100 with at least 24 in the written section and no less than 20 in any other section.
