After graduating, you initially work within the hospital system. Several years later, you can choose to undertake further training and become a general practitioner or specialist in a range of areas, such as obstetrics, paediatrics or psychiatry.
You are also eligible for professional registration with the Medical Board of Australia. After serving a compulsory internship year of residence in an approved hospital, you become eligible for final registration in Victoria and other Australian states.
Gaining the required result in one of the following tests of English language:
IELTS score of 7.0 with no individual band score less than 6.5.
A TOEFL minimum test score of either;
in the written TOEFL, 600 with a Test of Written English (TWE) score of at least 5.0; or
in the internet-based TOEFL, an overall score of at least 100 with at least 24 in the written section and no less than 20 in any other section.
