Why study Graduate Diploma in Business?

The Graduate Diploma in Business may be completed in one year of full-time study, or two years part-time. It is a stand-alone award, or a pathway to a masters degree. Students may choose any eight graduate-level units from the Faculty of Business and Economics. However, in order to proceed to a masters degree with full credit for the eight completed units, these units must include at least four core units from the relevant masters degree. Students must also meet the entry requirements of the particular masters degree in which they intend to enrol.

Applicants must have completed one of the following qualifications:

  • an Australian bachelor degree or equivalent qualification; OR
  • an executive certificate awarded by the Faculty of Business and Economics.

PREREQUISITE:

(a) A Weighted Average Mark (WAM) of 60%, or equivalent Grade Point Average (GPA) as determined by the Faculty.

Applicants with an Australian bachelor degree or equivalent qualification with a WAM of no more than 5% (or equivalent GPA) below the published score may be considered if places become available. For further information regarding WAM refer to: WAM

English requirements for international students

IELTS 7.0 no band lower than 6.5, or TOEFL 600 with a TWE of 5, or an internet-based TOEFL score of 100 with 24 plus in Writing and no section lower than 20.

Enrolment obligation

International students enrolling in a CRICOS-registered course can study no more than 25% of their course by distance and/or online learning. Students cannot enrol exclusively in distance and/or online learning study in any compulsory study period. See standard 9.4 of The National Code 2007.
