Bachelor of Business and Commerce / Bachelor of Visual Arts for 2010

Course overview

Art can be big business. Australia has a growing art market, and the sale, administration and appraisal of major works requires experts who can speak both the language of business and of art.

This double degree promotes a broad understanding of the visual arts and the ideas and forces affecting them, as well as the development of keen management, business and financial skills.

It is ideal for students seeking a career in art administration, gallery management and the ever-growing art market, while for the aspiring artist it offers a valuable insight into the business world.

Career outlook

Business and Commerce/Visual Arts graduates will be able to practise professionally in one or more art media, or art and design criticism, or they may become involved in art gallery management, cultural programs for community, government, or business, or a range of other art and design industry activities.
