Why study Bachelor of Business and Bachelor of Visual Arts?

This double degree is the only program of its kind in Victoria. It has been developed in response to the demand for arts administrators, artists and designers with first-class business skills.

The course will provide you with foundation knowledge in the major business disciplines, together with knowledge of the theories and practices associated with being a professional in the domain of visual arts.

Monash is the place to study visual arts. Our academics in the Art, Design and Architecture faculty are practising artists, architects and designers, and will offer you the benefit of their creative and professional experience. Many are internationally recognised, raising the profile of Monash and Australian art, design and architecture on the world stage. Kathy Temin, sculpture coordinator, recently featured in a solo exhibition at the Art Gallery of New South Wales. Callum Morton, Australia's Venice Biennale exhibitor in 2007, leads the Department of Fine Arts. Professor John Warwicker, co-founder of the cutting-edge design studio, Tomato, rounds out our design team as the strongest in the country. Professor Nigel Bertram, Director of NMBW Architecture Studio, is taking a lead role in establishing our research in housing adaptability and urban design.

You will be joining a course of high-achievers in the Bachelor of Business. Recently, three of our students were selected for internship positions with Monash partner, Oxfam Australia. The students adopted leadership roles in the areas of logistics, event management and communications and supervised teams of local volunteers in New Delhi. The students had the opportunity to contribute to solutions for global challenges and learn how Oxfam operates.
