Course overviewAs society embraces new technology, it is science that provides the framework for this development. The four-year Bachelor of Science/Bachelor of Education aims to provide a broad general education to prepare students for combination careers in science and primary education. Education studies provide a comprehensive knowledge of the theoretical foundations of education, curriculum studies and teaching practice. Core primary studies cover key learning areas of arts, English, mathematics, health and physical education, science, studies of society and environment (SOSE), and technology, and include practical experiences in primary schools and other appropriate settings. The science studies allow students to choose subjects from a wide range of science disciplines (depending on the campus), giving students an understanding of the origins of science and the nature of scientific enquiry. Students can take the course at either the Gippsland campus or between the Peninsula (primary education units) and Clayton (science units) campuses.
