The Honours year in the Bachelor of Behavioural Neuroscience aims to extend research training in specialised areas and to allow students to develop sophisticated research skills.

Students may undertake this year of study in behavioural neuroscience or, based on their second major, they may pursue study in that discipline.

Entry requirements

Minimum entrance requirements

To be eligible for entry to the fourth-year honours program, students will be required to achieve a distinction average or better in the four core third-year behavioural neuroscience (BNS) units.

English requirements for international students

Gaining the required result in one of the following tests of English language:

a minimum overall IELTS test score of at least 6.5 with individual band scores required at 6.5 for Reading, 6.5 for Listening, 6.0 for Writing and 6.0 for Speaking.

a TOEFL minimum test score of either;

in the written TOEFL, 580 with a Test of Written English (TWE) score of at least 4.5; or

in the internet-based TOEFL, an overall score of at least 90 with at least 22 in the written section and no less than 20 in any other section.

Enrolment obligation

International students enrolling in a CRICOS-registered course can study no more than 25% of their course by distance and/or online learning. Students cannot enrol exclusively in distance and/or online learning study in any compulsory study period. See standard 9.4 of The National Code 2007.
