Bachelor of Science (Environmental Management) for 2010

Course overview

In this course environmental science is studied from a South East Asian perspective. It is designed for those who are concerned about the environment and are interested in understanding how natural resources can best be managed. The management of natural resources is becoming an increasingly important issue in modern society. The prosperity of a country or region depends greatly on its natural resources (including minerals, fossil fuels, water catchments, agricultural land, forests and fisheries). The core units of the program raise the issues of environmental management and provide a range of analytical, monitoring and management skills. Students may select elective units from other disciplines of science and mathematics, or from related studies in computing, business management, communication, tourism, economics, sociology or engineering.
