The Graduate Certificate in Pharmacy Practice (Internship) is an approved course of study for the purpose of registration by the Pharmacy Board of Australia.

Why study Graduate Certificate in Pharmacy Practice (Internship)?

The Graduate Certificate in Pharmacy Practice (Internship) allows students to develop further knowledge and skills in a range of pharmacy practice-related areas. This is a 24 credit point course that is studied on a part-time basis. The 'Pharmacy Internship' program is for students who have just completed the Bachelor of Pharmacy and are undertaking their internship year.

Students complete the two Pharmacy Internship units ('Applied pharmacy practice I' and 'Applied pharmacy practice II'), and in addition complete two elective units drawn from the faculty's wound care and clinical pharmacy courses and economics units. The electives can be taken concurrently with the Internship units, or completed after the Internship units.

  • A bachelor degree or equivalent qualification in pharmacy from Australia or New Zealand; or
  • Successful completion of APC (Australian Pharmacy Council) requirements if the applicant is an overseas practitioner from a country other than New Zealand.

International entry requirements

Overseas applicants must have completed APEC (Australian Pharmacy Examining Council) requirements.

English requirements for international students

The Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences courses have higher IELTS, Pearson and TOEFL score requirements, than for Monash undergraduate programs.

  • IELTS (academic test) minimum test score of 7.0 overall (at least 6.5 in Reading, Listening, Writing and Speaking)
  • Pearson Test of English (academic test) minimum test score of 65 overall (No PTE communicative skills score below 58)
  • TOEFL (paper based) minimum test score of 600 overall (TWE of 5.0)
  • TOEFL (internet based) minimum test score of 100 overall (at least 25 in Reading, Listening, Writing and Speaking)
