Graduate Certificate in Pharmacy Practice for 2009

Course overview

The Graduate Certificate in Pharmacy Practice allows students to develop further knowledge and skills in a range of pharmacy practice-related areas. This is a 24 credit point course that is studied on a part-time basis. There are two streams of this course:

  • The 'Pharmacy Internship' stream is for students who have just completed the Bachelor of Pharmacy and are undertaking their internship year.
  • The 'Registered Pharmacist' stream is for practicing pharmacists.

Students in the 'Pharmacy Internship' (pre-registration) stream in the Graduate Certificate of Pharmacy Practice complete the two Pharmacy Internship units ('Applied pharmacy practice I' and 'Applied pharmacy practice II'), and in addition complete two elective units drawn from the faculty's wound care and clinical pharmacy courses. The electives can be taken concurrently with the Internship units, or completed after the Internship units.

The Registered Pharmacists stream explores areas of specialty practice providing the opportunity to develop further knowledge and skills in a range of pharmacy practice-related areas, economics, wound and clinical pharmacy. This provides an excellent opportunity for ongoing professional development.
