Entry requirementsMinimum entrance requirements for non-school-leaversFor both on and off campus applicants - TAFE A minimum of Certificate IV will be considered and admission will be based on academic merit. University Applicants are considered on the basis of VCE or equivalent results. VCE prerequisitesUnits 3 and 4 a study score of at least 30 in English (ESL) or 25 in any other English. International Baccalaureate subject prerequisitesEnglish at a minimum of four at standard level. English requirements for international studentsGaining the required result in one of the following tests of English language: a minimum overall IELTS test score of at least 6.5 with individual band scores required at 6.5 for Reading, 6.5 for Listening, 6.0 for Writing and 6.0 for Speaking. a TOEFL minimum test score of either; in the written TOEFL, 580 with a Test of Written English (TWE) score of at least 4.5; or in the internet-based TOEFL, an overall score of at least 90 with at least 22 in the written section and no less than 20 in any other section. Special application requirementsAll off campus applicants, must apply directly to the Department of Social Work and complete the Social Work application Form, see the Online applicants must answer the 3 questions on social work (see application form). Applications close on 31st October. There are no additional requirements for international students. SUCCESSFUL APPLICANTS; Police check: Students must complete a National Police Records Check before undertaking clinical placements. Working With Children Check: Students must hold a Working With Children Check before undertaking clinical placements. Failure to hold satisfactory checks may result in students being unable to complete this course.
