The Master of Philosophy in the Faculty of Law requires the completion of a major thesis of about 50,000 words in length, which may be undertaken in any area of research within the faculty. It is particularly suited to students seeking to undertake an inter-disciplinary research project. It is expected that the thesis will meet a standard comparable to legal writings found in learned journals, and demonstrate the student's ability to carry out independent research and to analyse and synthesise legal concepts.
