Course overviewThis course prepares students who have a first qualification in another discipline area, for professional careers in business systems (BS), information systems (IS), and information management (IM). It provides students with an understanding of foundation information technology concepts and fundamental BS, IS and IM principles, and also develops knowledge of a significant area of business information systems to a level of depth and sophistication consistent with senior professional practice. Students may exit the program after successfully completing four specific units, with the Graduate Certificate in Business Information Systems. AccreditationAustralian: This course accredited by the Australian Computer Society (ACS) as meeting the standard for associate-level membership. Students who successfully complete the GradDipBIS may, depending on their unit choice, be eligible for professional accreditation/recognition by the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA), the Australian Society of Archivists (ASA), or the Records Management Association of Australasia (RMAA). |
