The normal entry requirement is through either a course transfer from a relevant Faculty of Information Technology Masters program (3-semester or Professional), or, via articulation from a relevant Faculty of Information Technology Postgraduate Diploma (in Information Technology or Business Information Systems), subject to the following: Completion of at least 8 units taken from the relevant degree specialisation (or at least 7 such units plus FIT5185 Introduction to IT research methods) with at least a 75% Weighted Average Mark (WAM) in all level 4 or 5 FIT units attempted (including failed units).
National Office of Overseas Skills Recognition (AEI-NOOSR) guidelines on equivalency to Australian bachelor degrees will apply.
Applicants (including those applying on-line) must provide a statement of research area of interest, using one of these options:
1) Nominate one of the research areas listed under one of the FIT Research Centres,
or
2) Nominate one of the specialisations listed in the MBIS(Hons) handbook entry.
IELTS 6.5 overall with no band lower than 6.0; TOEFL 580 with a TWE of 4.5; or an Internet-based TOEFL score of 90 with 22 in Writing and no section lower than 20.
