Why study Bachelor of Business Information Systems?

All organisations, from the largest multinational to the smallest start-up, need information technology to carry them through change and ensure their long-term stability and viability.

Business information systems analysts are at the forefront of change and guide organisations toward their goals. This degree will develop your understanding of information systems in the context of big business, but you'll be able to apply your skills in a range of settings.

Annette Anhar, for example, used her degree to develop a chain of successful fine-dining restaurants back home in Indonesia.

The course teaches the fundamentals of using IT to model and solve business problems. You'll graduate with the skills to lead communication across all levels of problem solving. The course's broad base will help you understand the needs of software engineers, business managers and users.

If you're a high-achieving local student, you can apply for our Industry-Based Learning (IBL) program to complete one or two 22-week placements in second and third year and receive a scholarship of up to $34,000.

Graduate David Wei used the program to gain experience with Accenture and PwC. Jessica Brouwer used it to work for with Deloitte and later GE Capital.

The course consists of six core information technology units, eight core business information systems units, two industrial experience project units and eight open electives.
