Civil and environmental engineers create infrastructure that functions harmoniously within the environment, benefiting society while being mindful to preserve our precious ecosystems.
It involves designing, building, maintaining and operating road systems, marine and wetland developments and recreational facilities. And working on research and projects that restore mining and landfill sites, monitor the life span of underground water pipes to prevent costly bursts, or develop new clean energy technologies.
This specialist field of engineering involves the latest in construction and infrastructure engineering and their operation and management, including road and water systems with a focus on incorporating physical and environmental contexts.
Civil and environmental engineers solve problems in the context of community and environmental needs.
