This course is an excellent choice for teachers and other educators, educational administrators, managers and policymakers, and others interested or involved in learning and development. Please note, this course does not provide a recognised initial teaching qualification. Why study Postgraduate Diploma of Education?

This course is designed to meet the needs of educators, educational administrators, managers, policy makers and others interested or involved in learning and education within the wider educational community or working in the corporate or government sector.

The program aims to stimulate your to focus on teaching and learning in ways that encourage the development of reflective practice, the relationship to ongoing professional learning and growth and the relationship between theory and practice in teaching.

You will complete four units selected from within the units offered in the postgraduate studies coursework programs. This includes all the units available within the Master of Education course. Students can also undertake any of the specialisms available in the Master of Education.

Exit point: Students may also exit the program after successful completion of two units with a Postgraduate Certificate of Education, or may continue on into the Master of Education.

Minimum entrance requirements

Applicants must hold an approved three-year bachelors degree in a relevant field with a credit average in the final year; or an approved fourth year of study; or an approved four year bachelors degree; or have qualifications or experience that the faculty considers to be equivalent to, or a satisfactory substitute for the above. Applicants who are not native speakers of English will be required to demonstrate substantial competence in written and spoken English by one of the approved methods before admission. Enrolment obligation

International students enrolling in a CRICOS-registered course can study no more than 25% of their course by distance and/or online learning. Students cannot enrol exclusively in distance and/or online learning study in any compulsory study period. See standard 9.4 of The National Code 2007.
