Postgraduate Diploma of Education for 2010

Course overview

[This course does not provide a recognised initial teaching qualification. Students seeking an initial teaching qualification should visit the faculty website for information on the faculty's Graduate Diploma of Education programs.]

This course is designed to meet the needs of educators, educational administrators, managers, policy makers and others interested or involved in learning and education within the wider educational community or working in the corporate or government sector. The program aims to stimulate students to focus on teaching and learning in ways that encourage the development of reflective practice and its relationship to ongoing professional learning and growth, and to think about the relationship between theory and practice in teaching. Students complete four units selected from within the units offered in the postgraduate studies coursework programs. This includes all the units available within the Master of Education course. Students can also undertake any of the specialisms available in the Master of Education.

Exit point: Students may also exit the program after successful completion of two units with a Postgraduate Certificate of Education, or may continue on into the Master of Education.
