The course prepares students for the increasingly complex legal and taxation issues faced by many areas of business and by government agencies. The course recognises the fundamental importance of business law and taxation in a rapidly changing commercial world and seeks to provide graduate with extended skills in these areas.Note that the degree does not qualify graduates to practise as a barrister or solicitor.
This degree will prepare students for a wide range of employment opportunities, both in Australia and internationally, including business consulting, business management, business marketing and trade practice compliance, human resources and employment law, stock and securities markets, the banking and finance sector, government regulatory bodies, government revenue agencies, and paralegal and legal administration.

The law is the backbone of business. It regulates financial transactions and marketing processes, and in doing so applies the law of contract and tort. It regulates those engaged in companies and partnerships and their banking and tax needs. It regulates new economic frontiers, such as e-commerce via the development of cyber laws.
